3 new posts

Sorry it's been an age, we have been going to bed at 8 pm every night and that's when I would usually post. Here are three new posts below so we are somewhat caught up.

Fats

Here are some pictures from Finley's second month of life. Finley (aka Cricket, Squeaks, Pukey McPukerson, Veronica Vomit, Fats, Fat girl, Chunkster) is continuing to thrive. She is one big girl. She is only two months old and is fitting into 6 month old clothing! At her one month appointment she was 11 lbs and in the 95th percentile for weight. I am eager to see how she measures up next week at her two month check up.

Her weight is a definite accomplishment, seeing that she spits up or projectile vomits All. The. Time. The laundry we are doing (her clothes, her blankets, my clothes, couch cushions) is prodigious. It's nuts. G never threw up, and this muchacha never stops. Supposedly she should be growing out of it soon, we are going to talk to the doc about it next week. I have cut everything that could possibly be irritating her out of my diet, which helps, but we're still getting showered on a regular basis. On the flip side, though, she rarely cries. She is SUCH a good baby. She's a sleeper, she smiles all the time, and is just a total sweetheart. Such a difference from her brother, the infant from hell. I'll take all the spit up she wants to hurl my way if she'll only keep being such a sweet baby!

Sleeping- she always falls asleep in her car seat. G used to scream every single time he was placed in his:

GJB

Here are some pics from the past month or so with Graydon. He is definitely testing our limits this month. I guess we are hitting the terrible twos a bit early.

He is still not anywhere close to sleeping through the night, and we can count on at least 2-3 visits every night, ugh. I think it was a huge mistake to transition him to the toddler bed, we should have just put up a crib tent. So now we are stuck. So, so stuck. It's one thing to have a newborn waking up at all hours of the night. It's quite another to have your toddler, who slept for a solid 12 hours for a whole year, to be causing the midnight havoc. And he's still not eating well, he went from having a healthy appetite to eating the bare minimum he needs to survive. Soooooo frustrating.

Here he is creeping out one night, only he was so tired that he fell asleep before he could make it down the stairs:

Horsebacking riding at the local park:

Screaming? Laughing? Not sure:

Loving on his sister in her crib:

Halloween! He was one of America's finest. He loved halloween, except that he cried at the first couple of houses because he wanted to go inside and play and we wouldn't let him. Once he got the hang of it, things went well.

Wearing JC's hat:

Here are some shots after we got home from trick or treating. He stripped down, but then put his hat and boots back on. He's quite a character:

Brushing his teeth, a favorite activity- yes, he loves to hang out in just his diaper and boots. I do make him put on clothes when we go outside, however:

Here are some shots from our trip to Philly this past week. There were 36 of us to dinner, my dad's entire side of the family minus two (Teddy and his family, and my Uncle's wife Dawn. Super sad Dawn didn't make it, because I knew I could count on her for at least an hour of baby holding and snuggling :) However, Finley got loved on by every member of the family, except for Reagan, age 7, who was pretty grossed out when she spit up.

It was a bit chaotic travelling with two under two but we managed.

Here we have the oldest and youngest members of the Thompson clan- love that my nana is still rocking the bright red lipstick!:

All the great-grandkids, minus one (Grace) and plus me (had to hold Finley):

Gray and the nearest his age (besides Grace), Tracey's daughter Marissa, age 2.5:

rundown

This is the post I'm going to refer to if I ever start feeling broody and like I want to get pregnant again (not going to happen, btw).

Here's the rundown of our night last night:

8 pm- G goes down for the night with a minumum of fuss. Awesome.
9 pm- JC wandering around moaning about the Hokies.
9:30 pm- Finley down.
9:35- JC and I dead asleep

11:00- Finley's up! diaper change, feeding, burp, hold her upright for 15-20 minutes due to suspected reflux
11:45- Finley back down

2:00- Finley back up!
2:00-4:00- diaper change Finn, feed finn, burp finn, hold finn upright, put finn down, immediately after which finley throws up, change finn's outfit, finley poops, diaper change #2, hold finn upright, bounce finn on my knees and stare at each other because she is now wiiiiiide awake.

MEANWHILE....

2:45: Graydon is UP and will not go back to bed.
2:45- 5:00AM- JC, then I, then JC, then I, then JC and I both try to get G to go back to sleep, all while Graydon screams and cries hysterically because he wants to go downstairs (with me, of course) and watch TV and we won't let him and keep putting him back into bed. Finally at 4:50 after two straight hours of crying and screaming nonstop I said, "screw it" and we go downstairs. He's asleep in 10 minutes. I'm asleep in 11.

5:45- Finley's back up. OF COURSE! Rinse, lather, repeat. G up an hour and a half later. I honestly do not know how we are going to get through these next few months if last night is the norm. Either one would be manageable on their own, but together????? TOTAL SHITSTORM!

If JC or I don't call you back in the next year, it's not because we don't want to talk to you. It's because we are too freaking tired to answer the phone.

Here' some more photos from the past month, because I don't know when I'll be alert enough to post again- right now I'm on some weird overtired adrenaline rush.
